Neuroscience of Meditation
Self-study Workshop
Learn how to apply the principles of myofascial release and biotensegrity to classical yoga postures and everyday movement, along with how mindful movement builds new neural pathways for calm, focus, and resilience.
A Self-Study Workshop on the Intersection of Modern Neuroscience and Ancient Teachings
Explore how meditation reshapes the brain, balances the nervous system, and awakens a deeper sense of presence and connection.
In this self-paced workshop, you’ll journey through the intersection of modern neuroscience and the ancient teachings of yoga philosophy. Together, we’ll explore how mindfulness, meditation, and the 8 limbs of yoga transform not only the mind but also the physical structure and function of the brain.
You’ll learn how different forms of meditation— from focused attention to open awareness — activate neural networks related to emotional regulation, compassion, learning, and self-awareness. Through this lens, meditation becomes not a task to master, but a state of being that naturally cultivates freedom, resilience, and ease.
Whether you’re a yoga teacher seeking Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits (YACEP) or a curious practitioner, this program offers a grounded, experiential understanding of the science behind spiritual transformation.

— Student, Myofascial Yoga Foundations
“I came to understand meditation not as something I ‘do,’ but as a way of being in relationship with myself. The science Christine shared made it all come alive.”
— Student, Neuroscience of Meditation
“Christine’s warmth and depth of understanding, combined with Dr. Marjorie Woollacott’s brilliant scientific insight, created such a powerful bridge between modern neuroscience and ancient wisdom.”

Bonus Monthly Practice Sessions
Practice sessions take place once a month on the Wednesday “teenth” (a date between the 13th and 19th, like January 14th or February 18th). It is not required that you attend the Wednesday classes live, though they are a great opportunity to practice with community and ask any questions you may have on our month’s current content. Replays of these classes are provided to you and are part of your course package for extra practice time.
